About Ruth M. Brooks
- Miss Ruth Teeple, 77, a former Mason County resident, died Monday in Miami, Fla. She was born July 8, 1900 in Peltons Corners, Mason County, the daughter of Harry and Minnie (Hextrom) Teeple. Her grandparents, Ephraim and Marie Teeple were pioneers of Peltons Corners.
In 1903 Miss Teeple moved with her family to the Isle of Pines, Cuba where she later became an interpreter for the U. S. government for many years. Miss Teeple was also one of the last Americans to leave Cuba after Castro took control.
She and her family were frequent visitors to Mason County. She is survived by several cousins, one of whom include Mrs. Dorothy Fox of Scottville. The funeral for Miss Teeple was held Tuesday evening at the Caballero Funeral Home in Miami. Interment will be held at a later date at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Free Soil. Local arrangements were conducted by the Stephens Funeral Chapel, Scottville.
