She was born on September 28, 1940, in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Leslie and Ruth (Adamson) Henry. Ruth was an extraordinary woman, known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her commitment to her career.

After graduating from Jackson High School, Ruth embarked on a fruitful career as a payroll supervisor with Sheriff Goslin Roofing. For an impressive span of 30 years, she dedicated herself to her work before eventually retiring. Ruth's strong work ethic and attention to detail were admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

In addition to her professional success, Ruth also cherished her role as a loving wife and mother. She was married to Dean Parrish and together they created a beautiful family. Ruth adored spending time with her three sons: Jeff (Kim) Parrish, Tim Parrish, and Craig Parrish. Her love for them knew no bounds.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Parents, brothers; Bud and Don Henry and a sister, Judy Briggs. She is survived by her sons; Jeff (Kim), Tim, and Craig Parrish, brothers; Larry (Narma) Henry, sisters; Marian (Clair) Hubbell and Sharon (Kenny) Brown, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Aside from her dedication to family, Ruth had a few passions that brought light into her life. As an avid Detroit Lions fan, she never missed watching a game and cheered on the team with unyielding enthusiasm. She also ardently supported the Detroit Tigers and held a special place in her heart for the Michigan State Spartans. Ruth's love for sports went hand in hand with her competitive spirit and unwavering loyalty.

In her leisure time, Ruth enjoyed participating in BINGO games, reveling in the excitement of each moment. She appreciated the opportunity to spend quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her laughter and genuine love created bonds that will forever be cherished.

The memory of Ruth Murlene Parrish will forever remain etched in the hearts of her surviving family and friends. Together, they mourn the loss of a remarkable woman whose kindness touched countless lives. As we gather to honor Ruth and celebrate her extraordinary life, visitation will take place at Richard A Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Battle Creek on October 29, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 PM.
