Ruth Smith

Ruth Smith married a Sale/Saile, probably Benjamin Sale. Rootsweb in an entry "Jeff Clark's Extended Family and some related lines" has Ruth first marrying Benjamin Fisher (who had a previous marriage). When Benjamin died, Ruth renounced all that Benjamin left her in his will but kept an interest in the water grist mill co-owned by her late husband, Benjamin. She then married a Sale, probably James Sale. The Genealogy of the Smith Family of Essex County, VA, compiled by C. W. Coleman listed a "vii, daughter4, who married a ______ Fisher, and had a daughter, Anne Fisher, born before 1755".
