Sabra was born in 1744. She is the daughter of Cornelius Tyson and Jane Cheek. [1]

At a Cane Creek monthly meeting in North Carolina held the 4th of the 12th mo 1762, a report was made that the marriage of JOSEPH GILBERT & SABRA TYSON was orderly accomplished.[2]

Cornelius Tyson's Will (1722-1795)

To son, Aaron Tyson, two cupboards and he pay two shillings each to Sarah Stinson (his sister). To daughter, Rebehach (Rebecca) Mirick (Myrick), 22 pounds cash. To my wife, Jane Tyson,one cake oven, books,and chaffin dish. To my son, Richard Tyson, the tract of land where he now lives (in Chatham Co., NC) To sons, Aaron and Benjamin Tyson, a tract of land beginning at the Chatham County line on the river banks running up the river poles (?). To son, Aaron, all my remaining land from Spring Branch to the river. To daughter, Sabrah Gilbert, three pounds cash. To daughter, Jane Womble, cash in drawers(?). To son, Thomas Tyson, a desk and books. To son, Aaron Tyson, half of the wagons. To son, Benjamin Tyson, five pounds and scales. To grandson, Thomas Tyson, a feather bed mead (?). To granddaughter, Elizabeth Tyson, six pewter plates, six white plates, one iron pot. I appoint as Executors: Benjamin Tyson, Aaron Tyson (sign) May Term 1795 Moore County, NC Archibald McBryde Note: The attorney for Cornelius Tyson was "Archibald McBryde".
