About Salvatore Rizzo

Biography

Salvatore Rizzo was born on June 23, 1911 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, United States. His parents were Salvatore Rizzo and Carmella Rizzo (Romano). He was the third son born to them and named after his father Salvatore "Sam" Rizzo

He died on July 3, 1911 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, United States and was buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery (Section G, Block 7, Lot 135), Hillside, Cook County, Illinois, United States.

He is buried at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Section G, Block 7, Lot 135. The cemetery was able to tell us that his grave was purchased by Joseph Romano and there are two other burials there. The first was 1 year old Giuseppe Zitto on December 29, 1903. Then, the second burial was on October 22, 1905 and the Cemetery told us the name is Francesco Reggio, but I was able to locate a death certificate for a Francesca Rezzie. I ordered this death record in June 2014. This is likely referring to Francesca Rizzo, granddaughter of Joe Romano. Then, finally, in 1911, baby Salvatore Rizzo was buried here as well. This all fits the story known to the family that Salvatore "Sam" Rizzo and Carmella Rizzo had two babies named Frances and Salvatore that died and their names were reused.
