Was a widower when married Czilli Strelinger in 1890. Died by suicide in 1891.
Samu Strelinger b1830 was a 60 year old widower when he married Zerela Czilli Strelinger who was 30 years old. I suspect that in the spot of the register that usually shows the name of the groom's parents (Samuel Strelinger and Maria Leimdorfer) in this case it are actually the groom himself and his first wife. One can assume that both his parents were dead by then. I have noticed in other registers that when a parent was dead and did not attend the wedding their name is omitted from the record. I also find it unusual according to Ashkenazy Jewish custom that a child would have exactly the same name as his father i.e Samuel. So based on the most likely scenario I decided to place Maria Leimdorfer as his first wife while waiting for further data.
