Arrived in America in 1901 or 1902OBITUARY -Samuel Abraham was born near Beirut, Lebanon to Abraham AssadRazouk and Alexandria Dagour. He had a twin brother, Franklin.He was a Muslim, but was educated at a Christian mission andlearned English, Spanish, and French. In 1901 he emigrated toAmerica and lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He worked in asteel mill until he was burned in an accident and quit. He thenenrolled in the Actual Business College. He also worked in acandy and novelty store and learned candy making. After he leftthe college he worked as a traveling salesman, selling candythroughout the U.S.In 1909 he and his brother Franklin opened a confectionery storeand ice cream parlor in Wapakoneta, known as "Abraham Brothers."He married Carrie Pauline Frank on June 30, 1914. They moved toMilwaukee, Wisconsin where Samuel worked in the candy departmentof a Boston Store. Later in 1914, Carrie's father died, and theymoved back to Wapakoneta, and lived with Carrie's mother onWater Street. Samuel resumed working in the candy business withhis brother. During World War I the business failed due to thehigh price of sugar. In 1921 they moved to an apartment onBenton Street.In April 1922 Samuel split with his brother Frank and opened hisown store, "Abraham Confectionery." Samuel made his own candyand ice cream. During the Depression he was forced to close thebusiness. He began working for a machine shop in Wapakoneta. Healso started a mail order business from home called "StarService." He wrote a small booklet called "How and Where toObtain Capital," which he sold for $2 each. He worked formachine shops in Wapakoneta and Lima, Ohio, until he retired in1949.Samuel died suddenly of a heart attack in Wapakoneta at the ageof 67. He was survived by Carrie, 2 children, and 4grandchildren. He belonged to the Odd Fellows and was an activemember of the Elks Lodge.
