Samuel Armitage

Son of Samuel & Sarah (Thompson) Armitage.
Immigrated from Methley in Yorkshire, England to Pennsylvania sometime between 1738-1739.

According to Genealogical record of the Hambleton family : descendants of James Hambleton of Bucks County, PA, he came over in about 1738 and settled in Solebury. Was a weaver by trade, but also taught school. In 1748, he bought a farm and built the first mill on the Cuttlelossa Creek, near his farm. The area is/was called "Armitage Mill".

Mary is the daughter of Matthis & Elizabeth (Margerum) Harvey. She was the widow of Joseph Simcock.
