About Samuel Arnold
Per WikiTree footnote of Stanley Wood created Nov.13, 2013:
On Feb. 9th, 1743, Samuel left his home on horseback, with a large sum of money, to make a deposit in a bank in Boston. He stopped at a store in Milton Mills to pay a bill. At the time there were two strangers in the store. Later that afternoon his riderless horse returned home without it's bridle. A search immediately ensued and his body was found in the Neponset River. He had been tied with his horses bridle, and all his money was missing. Sometime later the two men were captured in New York for horse thievery. They confessed to the murder of Samuel Arnold and the theft of his money. They were hung in New York state.
