Samuel Baldwin, son of Curtiss Baldwin and Polly Chittenden, was b. Feb. 7,1793; moved with his father to Durham, NY; settled in Ravenna, Portage county, Ohio, whre he was in 1873. He. m. Mar. 29,1815 MRS. SALLY (DUNN) SPENCER, b. the same day that her husband was, and d. Sept. 3, 1844.

Children were: Polly (1816), Sarah (1821), David (1821), Custis Chittenden (1824), Timothy Dwight (1827), Samuel (1829), William Alden (1832), Henry Marsden (1834), and Edward Payson (1837).

Samuel m. 2nd, WIDOW HART, whose children by her first husband were Alphonso, lately Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, now, in 1875, of Cleveland, and William and Edgar, of the same city. Samuel left Durham, Feb. 10,1818, and arrived at Atwater, Mar. 6,1818. He d. in Ravenna, Ohio, Feb. 11,1874. His wife Sally was widow of Elihu, by whom she had a son Elihu, still living 1876.
