Samuel Berry

Samuel BERRY married Mary Ann WILLIAMS 14 Apr 1873 at Forth,Tasmania,Australia.They had five[5] children when Mary died on 02 Oct 1891 at Scottsdale,Tasmania.

Mary had been unwell for a few months but suddenly took ill with a severe nose haemorrhage. Samuel was working in his nearby orchard and returned home immediately when his daughter called him. He put Mary to bed where she stayed. Mary died a week later.

Samuel's thirteen year old daughter, Ada May Berry, took on the care of the four younger boys. Francis [1882], Charles [1885], Harry [1887] and baby Federick [1890].

Samuel married Amelia MUNDY in Launceston on 15 Mar 1893. Amelia was a widow with five sons and a daughter so they had a full house. Ada liked her step-mother but left home at age sixteen years.

Samuel and Amelia had twin sons,Samuel James Graham [known as Jim] and an unknown named child. born 29 Mar 1896. It is probable the later died at birth, and believed to be buried at Beaconsfield,Tasmania.

Amelia died on 19 Feb 1899 at Lilydale,Tasmania.

Samuel  moved to Moonee Ponds, Victoria with Jim. Samuel later married Eliza [Details unknown]. They are buried in an unmarked grave in the Wesleyan section of the Footscray Cemetery,Melbourne,Victoria.
