Samuel Burton

John Burton never married Judith Nunsllys, who as the story goes had this "bastard" child named Samuel with John Burton. [1]

The Burton Patriarch File attributes a Samuel Burton, born 8 Aug 1725, as a child of John "old John" Burton and a woman named Judith Nunneley (likely a bastard if "Old John" was the father). It would make more sense if said Samuel was a child of this family, and if the "Judith LNU" here is actually Judith Nunneley.

It should also be noted that others claim that Judith LNU is actually Judith Paine. Also, there is no mention of a Samuel in the will of James Burton. Finally, others attributed the first cousin of James, Abraham Burton, Jr., as the father of Samuel.

It is thus quite likely that Samuel does not belong as a member of this family.
