He m. 2nd, 19 Apr. 1700, Priscilla Pratt (R-4), dau. of John Pratt, of Medfield, Suffolk Co., Mass. (R-15).
Samuel Bushnell was a husbandman, or farmer, of Saybrook, and had over 200 acres of land there in several tracts (R-13). On 17 June 1710, he, as only surviving adm. of the est. of his father, Lt. William Bushnell of Saybrook, dec'd, called upon Robert Chapman and John Clark, to pass judgement on the value of a 1500 acre tract of land at Hebron, Conn. probably the same land which came to the est. under the will of Uncas, 500 acres of which went to Samuel's sisters, Judith, Abigail, and Lydia Seward. He was appointed adm. of the est. of his brother Stephen, who d. 1 Aug. 172*, but was too aged and infirm to serve; the Court accepted in his behalf, the inv. of his son Nathaniel. On 14 Mar. 1727, he had given his son Daniel a tract of land in Hebron, probably a portion of the 1500 acres, and on 20 June following, he gave to his son Josiah "All land or lands, or rights of lands, now in the care of his brother John Pratt, of Reding, Middlesex Co. Province of Mass. Bay, adm. of the est. of our honored father John Pratt, late dec'd, of Medfield, Co. Suffolk and Province aforesaid," this document was signed by a mark (R-13).
An indenture (date unknown), was signed by the following children: Samuel, Daniel, Ebenezer, Josiah, Edward Rutty and wife Judith, Priscilla, Daniel Boen and wife Jerusha, and gr-dau. Abigail Hall. For many years he was a Dea. in the ch. at Saybrook (R-15), and after his death, his son Samuel was appointed adm. and filed an inv. on 21 Mar. 1728.
