public profile
Samuel Howard Carlton worked as a pipe fitter for the Norfolk & Western Railroad most of his adult life. However, his defining occupation was as a veterinarian for Mingo and Logan Counties in West Virginia and Pike County, Kentucky. He learned the veterinary field from his father, Charles Wilson Carlton, who was a full-time veterinarian. Mr. Carlton was a member of Williamson Lodge No. 1613, Loyal Order of Moose. He was named salutatorian of the 1935 graduating class at Williamson High School. He was known for his dry humor.
