Samuel Osborne Doane

Biography

Samuel was born at Eastham, Mass., June 7, 1752 and died at Barrington, Nova Scotia, Feb. 21, 1824. He married at Barrington, Apr. 9, 1774, Sarah Harding, born at Eastham, Dec. 23, 1756 and died at Barrington, May 24, 1843, the daughter of Theodore and Martha (Sears) Harding and sister of Rev. Theodore Seth Harding. Children, from Barrington records :

Samuel Osborn, b. Jan. 29, 1775; d. at Barrington, Aug. 28, 1850; m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 1796, Susanna Barlow, b. at Phillips Patent, Dutchess Co., N. Y., Feb. 4, 1775 ; d. at Barrington, Nov. 14, 1858, the dau. of George and Sarah Barlow; no children.
James, b. Nov. 20, 1776.
Hervey, b. Feb. 15, 1779.
Prince, b. Oct. 19, 1781.
Josiah Payne, b. Aug. 31, 1784.
Sarah Wright, b. May 13, 1787; d. July, 1790.
Abigail Osborn, b. March 19, 1790; d. June 7, 1833; m. Jan. 28, 1817, by Samuel O. Doane, Esq., to Seth Coffin, b. at Barrington, Oct. 22, 1791, s. of Seth and Anna (Barlow) Coffin; no ch. He m. 2nd, Dec. 11, 1834, Caroline, dau. of Edmund Doane (88).
Sarah Wright, b. June 3, 1793; d. Aug. 5, 1835; m. Oct. 13, 1818, John Sargent, b. Apr. 6, 1792, s. of John Sargent by his wife the widow Margaret Barnard. He was a farmer and resided on Sheroes Island, Barrington. Ch. : 1. John Winthrop, b. Oct. 22, 1820; d. Apr. 11, 1844. 2. Sophia, b. Nov. 30, 1821; d. May 16, 1845. 3. Abigail Coffin, b.
