Samuel Duff, Jr

Samuel Duff Jr. was married in Russell County, VA to Virginia Margaret Olinger, born Dec 3, 1784 in Augusta County, Va, daughter of John Christopher and Eve Seiler Olinger. Samuel Duff moved with his family to Lee County, VA where he settled in Turkey Cove, and on Jul 9, 1826 he purchased a tract of land containing 70 acres for $650.

March 19, 1840 Alcie Duff and Emily Duff orphans of Samuel Duff deceased with the approbation of the Court made choice of Joseph Duff for their guardian. And the court doth assign Joseph Duff guardian to Samuel A. Duff also orphan of the said Samuel Duff deceased. But the said Joseph Duff is not to enter upon the duties of his guardianship until he shall enter into bond with good and sufficient security in the penalty of six hundred dollars. (OBK 5-18)
