About Samuel Pinchas Ehrman
"Shmuel was one of several children. He lost his father in 1897, and his mother in 1908, shortly after his Barmitzvah. At the age of 6, he was apparently thrown out of Yeshiva - the family being unable to afford the Yeshiva fees. After serving in the Austrian Army during WWI, he asked the Belzer Rebbe if he should move to Antwerp. Story has it that he was told not to make the move as his children would end up marrying out of the faith! He nevertheless left for Antwerp one week later and became a shop assistant. Later, he met Shmuel Schamroth, a diamond cutter, for whom he sold diamonds. Fearing the Nazis, he later departed for Brazil where he lived for some 13 months. He eventually moved to the USA where he set up a diamond business with his sons and aptly named the business "Samerson". After the death of his first wife Erna, he married Chana Wortsman, Erna's niece." - taken from http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/s/c/h/J-Schamroth/WEBSIT...
