From The Complete Ilgenfritz: "Samuel Ellifritt (Hans George, Hans Georg, Hans George, Andreas, Jorg, Georg, Marx, The Old Man) was born 19 Sep 1796 in Hampshire County, Virginia. He died 27 May 1871 in Greenwood, Doddridge County, West Virginia and was buried May 1871 in Greenwood Cemetery, Doddridge County, West Virginia. Samuels children all changed the spelling of thesurname to Ellifritt eliminating the "z" Samuel married Mary Jane Duckworth "Polly", daughter of Henry J. Duckworth and Abigail Tichenor, on 11 Jan 1819 in Allegany County, Maryland. Polly was born 14 Jul 1802 in George's Creek, Alleghany County, Maryland. She died 7 Sep 1880 in Greenwood, Doddridge County, West Virginia and was buried Sep 1880 in Greenwood Cemetery, Doddridge County, West Virginia."

The above dates are close, but do not match those on the gravestone at the Greenwood Cemetery.

Samuel Ellifrith appears on the same 1820 US Census for Allegany Co., MD as does Henry Duckworth. He is also on the 1830 Census.
