About Samuel M Frazier

Samuel Frazier was a Patriot - DAR # A042031 Patriotic Service during the Revolutionary War, from NC.

Took Oath of Allegiance to make land entry in 1779. No military service was defined on this Application.

Samuel Frazier (1749-1839) was of the Quaker faith and a member of the New Hope Meeting.

Samuel was a member of the Whig Party of 1776 and prominent in the formation of the State of Tennessee. The Samuel Frazier Chapter of the DAR of Knoxville, TN has honored him by naming their chapter for him.

About 1789, seven years before the frontier area west of the Appalachians attained Statehood, Samuel Frazier, his wife & family moved from Guilford County, NC to Greene County (now Tennessee). Tennessee became a State of the Union on June 1, 1796.

After 1800, Samuel and his wife Rebecca moved to Knox County, TN where they lived out their days. Both Samuel & Rebecca lived into their 90s.

Samuel Frazier (1749-1839) was the husband of Rebecca Julian (1738-1838). They married in May, 1771 at Mecklenburg Couny, NC and raised 7 children.

Burial is in Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.
