About Samuel J Heffelfinger
Samuel J. Heffelfinger, a native of Mount Aetna, died Monday afternoon in the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 74. Heffelfinger had been residing at the Hill Farm Nursing Home, North Annville Township, when he was admitted to the hospital. He was a son of the late Franklin and Luceda Long Heffelfinger. His wife, Mrs. Mary Easton Heffelfinger, died in 1959. He was a retired barber and a member of the United Church of Christ, Mount Aetna, and Washington Camp 69, POS of A, Mount Aetna. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Ira Uhrich Post, American Legion, Myerstown. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Nora, wife of Amos Frantz, Rehrersburg; a half-sister, Margaret, wife of Israel Derr, Myerstown; the following half-brothers: John Heffelfinger, Illinois; George Heffelfinger, Bethel, and Franklin Heffelfinger, Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held this afternoon for Samuel J. Heffelfinger, Mt. Aetna, from the Bahney Funeral Home, Myerstown. The Rev. Allen Happe, pastor of the Mt. Aetna United Church of Christ, officiated. Interment was in Mt. Aetna Cemetery. Pallbearers were representatives of the P.O.S. of A. Lodge, Mt. Aetna, and the Myerstown American Legion Post.
