Miller and Anna Cath.” (Source: New York Genealogical and Biographical Register, Vol. 97, Baptisms of the Lutheran Church in New York 1725-27.) Confirmed as Samuel Hoener, age 21, on 12 Apr 1748 at Stn Ch in Rhinebeck, NY, confirmation sponsor Johannes Hunsinger; three of his brothers were confirmed on the same date. He appears in the 1790 Federal census, and was a witness at a probate of a neighbor’s will in 1794. He married (1st) at Rhinebeck, NY on 21 May 1754 Rebecca Feller (Kingston Ref), bc 1729, d/o Philip Feller (Fellers, Veller) and Catharine Rau; they were baptismal sponsors 25 Feb 1778. Samuel was a blacksmith in Clermont.
