In the 1900 Census he lived in Smithfield with his wife Phebe and his son Virgila and his granddaughter and two boarders. They owned their farm with a mortgage. He had a son that lived next door and his daughter Minda lived two doors down. In 1870 lived in Pine Grove, Wetzel County
