"Samuel was admitted to full communion 26 January 1696.
He was one of the original proprietors of New Milford, bu t by the time the first town lots were distributed 11 Febru ary 1724 he had been dead for some years. In 1700 he receiv ed a land grant in Norwalk, Connecticut from the town commi ttee. New Milford records show that he deeded to John Nobl e land purchased from the Indians 29 June 1708. He also own ed land at Oyster River, which is just east of Merwin's Poi nt; he probablfy inherited this from his father and reside d there. "
