Samuel Peter was 3rd of 4 brothers. David (B: 1832), Zachariah (B: 1825, died Navarro County, TX), Samuel was born in Washington County, Kentucky), James (B: 1828, died in Bosque County, TX), Dorinda (B: 1809, Kentucky, married John Neeley).

Samuels first wife was Jemima Hendricks, she died 3/8/1841, Illinois. Children: Hannah (Died), and David Madison. Second wife Beersheba Dodson (B: 6/15/1819, Tennessee, died 10/17/1906, Iola, TX, married 11/23/1837), Pike County, Illinois. Children: George W. Sarah Elizabeth, James Nelson, Jemima Ann, Isaac, Nancy, John W., Dorinda, Simon, Harriett, Hulda, Texannah, Samuel P.
