Munk was described in a recent publication as being a teacher in a school in Wollstein. This school was where Heinrich Graetz (1817-1891) went as a young boy for his education. The publication is the Ph.D. thesis of Amas Bitzan, page 97. Awarded the Ph. D. at the University of California at Berkeley in 2011. Wollstein was described as being a center of Jewish life, and had a school for Jewish education that was sometimes preferred to those in nearby Posen because it was less strict.
