Samuel Owen Rice

Samuel Rice was born on 1 June 1812 in Kentucky. He was the son of John Rice and Nancy Jane Davis. He died after 1870 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, the last time he appeared on a census.

Samuel Rice married (1) Sarah Bayes and had five children before Sarah's death c.1839-1840. Samuel Rice married (2) Jane Patrick on 11 November 1841 in Floyd County, Kentucky, and had 13 children with Jane.

Samuel Rice appeared on the census of 1860 at Magoffin County, Kentucky, listed as Samuel age 47 head of house. He appeared on the census of 24 August 1870 at Magoffin County, Kentucky, listed as Samuel age 57 head of house.
