Samuel Brown Stocks

I was told that my great-uncle Sam was named for a Jewish merchant in Albany. Every year on his birthday, Sam Stocks was sent into town with a gift of a barrel of molasses for Sam Brown. Sam Brown would then give Sam Stocks a new suit for his birthday.
