Samuel E Turner, 96, of Russiaville, died Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Rice Nursing Home at Michigantown. He had been in failing health for several years and had been in the nursing home since Sept 10. He was born Oct 10, 1868, in Tonganoxie, Kan., the son of Jesse and Alvin (Paddock) Turner. On Dec 20, 1906, he was married to Margaret E Johnson, who preceded him in death in 1962. He was a member of the Russiaville Friends church and was a retired farmer. He is survived by two sons, Iryl Turner of Kokomo, and Fred Turner of West Liberty, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs Ralph (Avis) Criss of Kokomo, Mrs Elmer (Millie) Merrill of Greentown, and Mrs Frank (Edith) Johnston of Glendale, Calif; one nephew and two nieces. Two sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Russiaville Friends Church with the Rev Hubert Mardock officiating. Burial will be in the New London Cemetery.
