a. Note: Samuel Waddy was born and grew up in Louisa Co VA. He served as the appraiser of the estate of his sister Mary Waddy when she died in 1773.
Samuel died unmarried about age 22 about May 1780. Abstract of will, dated Nov 2 1779, probated May 8 1780; Samuel Waddy Jr of St. Martin's Parish, Louisa Co VA; to sister Ann Waddy [Thomson] and to heirs of her body lawfully begotten which heirs are to share the same equally at her death all testator's land in Louisa Co which are in two separate tracts, one given to testator by his mother, the other by his grandfather Anthony Waddy; also negro slaves together with testator's undivided part of his sister Frances Waddy's estate and the residue of estate after discharging just debts. Should sister Ann die without lawfull issue, to nephew Samuel Waddy, all the estate given to testator's said sister Ann. Should nephew Samuel Waddy die without heir lawfully begotten, then to testator's uncle William Craighill tract of land given to testator by his mother. Executors to sell land given to testator by his grandfather Anthony Waddy to discharge debts in case debts due should not be sufficient to do the same.
