Alicia Mary de Visme, wife of the first Henry Lloyd, was the daughter of Col.Samuel Whittle who married Lady Alicia Fleming, the daughter of Earl Upton.'
Settler Henry Lloyd's mother (in law) had her own fortune, but part of this was lost in Bremner's* Bank and part in the bank of Sir Matthew Bloxem. Her husband Col. Samuel Whittle died from wounds received in battle, but she was left a wealthy woman.
