Wikle states: "Samuel was born abt.1789 in NC, one of 11 children born to Peter Weigel & Maria Magdalena Witmeyer; married Esther Bandy in 1823 in N.C.; died in 1844 in N.C.; Esther moved the family to Georgia after his death & in 1858 moved her family from Georgia to Kaufman County, Texas".

(2) FAMILY: Samuel & Ester (Easter) had 12 known children -- Jeptha, Cynthia, Henry, Elizabeth, Charity, Susannah, Mary, Anna, Nancy, Hester, Samuel, & John.

(3) CENSUS: 1840 Cherokee County, NC Federal Census, pg.234-Ln.15 shows Samuel Wikle (Head of family) with 4 Males (ages under 5 - 50) & 9 Females (ages under 5 - 50). Total of 13 in family. In Agriculture.
