About Samuel S. Yoder
US Congressman. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he enlisted in the Union Army in 1862 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant by the end of the Civil War. He studied medicine and establised a practice in Bluffton, Ohio, and later studied law and commenced a legal practice in Lima, Ohio, after being admitted to the bar. He was elected to the United States Congress from Ohio and served from 1887 to 1891. He later practiced law and engaged in the real estate business in Washington, D. C. (bio by: Garver Graver)
