  • Bill was working for AMOCO in Rawlins, WY when Sandy was diagnosed with breast cancer. They move to Bay St Louis/Waveland, Mississippi to be near a good cancer treatment center in New Orleans, LA. They lived in two different houses there. The first was on stilts and had too many steps for Sandy. He was especially devoted to her during this time.
  • She died in the hospital in New Orleans, LA of cancer. Hurricane Andrew threatened to come ashore after Sandy died, delaying her body being transferred to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi for her memorial service in Bay St Louis, where they had a home. There were some delay issues also because the body was being transferred from Louisiana to Mississippi. Roger & Kay Anderson (brother & sister-in-law), Bill’s mom, Laverne, and Bill watched the weather reports closely to decide if we were going to need to evacuate, as Bay St Louis is right on the Gulf coast. Her body was cremated on 25 Aug 1992. Bill, her husband, had the urn with her ashes even after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. (Memories of Pat (Anderson) Scoggin, sister.)
  • Lived in: Champaign, IL; Paxton, IL; LaFayette, LA; Maurice, LA; Pearl River, LA; Rawlins, WO; Waveland, Mississippi
  • She loved to crochet and made multiple afghans and even sold many when living in Rawlings, WO
  • Loved crossword puzzles & reading and old westerns & spending time with Bill.
