Gettysburg Times 3/29/1961 Funeral services for Mrs S. Belle Warren, 69, Arendtsville, who died at the Warner Hospital Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Peters Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with the Rev. Nevin Frantz officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Arendtsville. Friends may call at the funeral home here on Thursday evening. Widow of J. Melvin Warren, who established the Chevrolet garages at Arendtsville and Getysburg, she was a daughter of he late J. F. and Ella (Spangler) Howe. Her husband died in 1943. On March 19 she fell at her home and suffered a broken leg. Admitted to the hospital, she had seemed to be in good physical condition otherwise and surgeons had made plans for an operation on the fracture Tuesday. Death occurred before the operation began. A member of the United Church of Christ of Arendtsville and of a Sunday School class of that church, she also was a member of the Auxiliary of the Arendtsville Fire Co. Surviving are three children: Richard Warren, Gettysburg; Mrs. Eugene K. Albright, Gardners R. 1, and Bill H. Warren, Gettysburg. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mrs. J. Grace Spangler, Gettysburg R. 4; two brothers, G. Harper Howe, and Jacob Howe, both of New Oxord R. 1, and a number of nieces and nephews.
