About Sara Pollak
Marriage record: HBMa 1749 RADENÍN (o. Tábor) O 1784-1840 N 1784-1842 (i) Z 1784-1842, image 8/76, bottom right (Vademecum)
Death record: HBMa 1749 RADENÍN (o. Tábor) O 1784-1840 N 1784-1842 (i) Z 1784-1842, record 115, image 47/76 (Vademecum)
One of the two witnesses in the marriage record is Marcus Wotitzky, who lived in Dolní Hořice and whose father Jakob in Chýnov had a daughter named Sara, according to the 1793 census (p. 26). By contrast, among the families known to have lived in house no. 8 in Radenín, where the wedding took place, there is no record of a daughter named Sara. While marriage witnesses were not necessarily close relatives of the parties being married, it seems unlikely that an unrelated person would come such a distance (2 hours on foot) to be a witness. On this basis I have identified the Sara of the wedding record with Sara Wotitzky. —Miles Rind, 17 Jun 2023
