About Sarah Asher

Sarah Pesmen Asher, 99, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at Village Shalom. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 26, at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, family suggests contributions to charity of one s choice. Mrs. Asher was a statistical typist for Touche-Ross for many years. She was a graduate of Manuel High School and was awarded the Diamond Honor Pin for scholastic achievement. Mrs. Asher then attended Avila College Art Department. She was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and its Sisterhood, life member of the Kansas City chapter of Hadassah, where she was president for two years, Menorah Medical Center Women s Auxiliary, National Council of Jewish Women, Brandeis University National Women s Committee, Marcella Rodin Club, High Twelve Women s Auxiliary and Shalom Geriatric Center Women s Auxiliary. Mrs. Asher was a former member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue. She was born in Russia and came to Kansas City in 1907. Mrs. Asher was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Seymour Asher, in 1990, her son, Richard Asher, in 1983, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne and Norman Rosen, Newport Beach, CA; daughter-inlaw, Charlene Asher, Sausalito, CA; grandchildren, Michael and Karen Rosen, Rachel and Chris Morley, Brian and Mary Asher and Anne Asher; greatgrandchildren, Jake and Max Rosen, Luke Morley, Carly and Ian Asher. Also surviving are her loving and devoted niece and nephew, Lenore and Sonny Jaben and many other nieces and nephews. (Arr.: The Louis Memorial Chapel, 816-361-5211)
