Miss S. Shella Barnes
Miss Sarah Shella Barnes, 71, 210 Harrison street, cashier at Rosenbaum Bros. store for the past 43 years, died in Memorial Hospital yesterday.
Miss Barnes became ill while at work on Thursday and was taken from the store to the hospital.
A daughter of the late George W. and Mary Constantis Lantz Barnes, Miss Barnes was a native of Barton but came to Cumberland forty-four years ago. She was a member of Centre Street Methodist Church and of the Arbee Club at Rosenbaum's.
Surviving are two brothers, William T. Barnes, Lonaconing; John Barnes, Stillwater, Okla.; and seven nieces and nephews, Mrs. Ruth Traynor, Baltimore; Mrs. Henry Hoecker, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Taney G. Young, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. M.F. Clapp, Cumberland; John I. Barnes, Baltimore and Arch Schaidt Young, Burbank, Cal. Miss Barnes was the sister of the late P. Clarence Barnes, member of the Allegany County Bar.
The body will remain at the Wolford Funeral Home. ________________________________________
