Buried with her husband John Beard (1848-1924) in the Roman Catholic section (MON CC gravesite 1156) of Fremantle Cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah Beard, who , lives with her sister Mrs. J. Anderson at 44 Petra Street, Fremantle, was 80 yesterday.
She has had 14 children, 60 grandchildren. 33 greatgrandchil
dren.
Forty-four of them served in World War II and all came through safely. Two of them are in Japan.
Mrs Beard was married near Northam at the age of 191/2 to Mr John Beard, a farmer, who died in 1924. At
the time of the marriage her husband, who was 36, had seven children by a previous marriage.
Thirteen of Mrs Beard's 14 children are still living, the eldest being Mr C.J. Beard, of Kellerberrin, who will be
60 in July.
Mrs Beard is not fond of the pictures and has not been for 27 years, does not approve of women smoking
or drinking liquor.
