Death of Mrs. Sarah K. Cook
[From Pomeroy (Ohio) Paper.]
Sarah K. Cook, daughter of Robert Bradford and wife, was born July 1, 1823, in Belpre, Ohio, and died October 24, 1906, at Kansas City, Mo., aged 83 years, 3 months and 23 days. Her school days were spent in Rutland and Salisbury townships. Her married life was spent mostly on a farm near the Rutland cemetery, in which her remains were laid to rest on the 27th. She was kindly remembered by her Rutland friends, as was shown by the number that followed her remains to the last resting place. She was highly esteemed for her deeds of charity and self sacrifice in caring for the sick and aiding the poor in the neighborhood. She was the oldest of seven children and leaves one brother, J. B. Bradford, of Middleport. She has four children living: Mrs. Irene Hall of Oregon, Mrs. Flora Forrest and Mrs. Ella McElhinny of Kansas City, Mo., and J. C. Cook of Wilson County, Kansas.
--Mrs. Sarah Cook was known by quite a number of people in Prairie township and Fredonia, all of whom entertained for her goodwill and respect. She lived with her son, John C. Cook, for several years.
