Her husband Elias and younger brothers John & Abijah Hutchinson were taken captive in the Royalton Indian Raid in Oct 1780, so she had to wait for their release. It appears she was about 4 months pregnant with son Abijah when the Raid occurred, while Elias Jr was about 4 years old. Accounts indicate the Indians cut her gold bead necklace from her throat and snatched a prized silk plaid dress, which she was able to take back and hide from them. The had three children: Elias Jr. (1776-1856), Abijah (1781-1847) and Polly (1785-1858) She appears to be living in son Abijah's household in 1830 Tunbridge census
