Sarah Fosdick

'Sarah Sprague,

daughter of John Sprague & Lydia Goffe, was born in Feb 1673. Sarah died on 12 Dec 1752 in Nantucket, MA.

Children of Jonathan and Sarah (Sprague) Fosdick, born at Charlestown, include:

•     i. Sarah Fosdick, b. 30 Apr 1693, m. at Charlestown1721 Maximilian Dowse 1721;
•     ii. Lydia Fosdick, b. 19 Jun 1696, d. 9 Mar 1697/8;
•     iii. Ann Fosdick, b. 9 Nov 1701, m. at Charlestown 1721 Jonathan Ramsdell;
•     iv. Jonathan Fosdick, b. 25 Sep 1708; and
•     v. Benjamin Fosdick, b. 20 Ded 1713.

Sarah (Sprague) Fosdick was admitted to the First church of Charlestown on February 3, 1716/1717.

Sarah Sprague born 19 Feb 1672 Malden, MA died 12 Dec 1752 Nantucket.Married 31 May 1692 Jonathan Fosdick in Charlestown, Middlesex, MA.

Interestingly, the same day as Sarah and Jonathan Fosdick's marriage, his step-mother Elizabeth Betts had a warrant issued for her arrest. She was taken to Salem on charges of witchcraft against the slave servant of Peter Tufts. Their neighbor was Peter Tufts at 350 Riverside Avenue, formerly known as Ship Street who was a large land owner and built a brick house...still stands. Peter made accusation against John's second wife of witchcraft.

She was imprisoned but acquitted. No details can be found on how she was acquitted. I have removed Quote marks from the following Salem records so this doesn't get bumped.
