About Sarah Leah Gittel Gad

According to "The Unbroken Chain", Sarah Leah was married to Gershon Gad, and she had 3 children, first a set of twins, and then a daughter named Zehava Golda Rochel, who was born in 1921 in Israel.

It has become apparent, however, that the twins, who were born in South Africa in 1915, were born prior to Sarah Leah's marriage to Gershon Gad, and they were both put up for adoption. The only one of Sarah Leah's children who was fathered by Gershon Gad was Zehava Golda Rochel. Gershon Gad's death notice lists the names of all of his children. It lists Zehava, who was a daughter from his first wife, Sarah Leah, as well as a number of children who came from his 2nd marriage. Gershon Gad and Sarah Leah were apparently divorced in Israel, prior to 1929. Sarah Leah and their daughter Zahava continued to live in Israel, but Gershon Gad left for South Africa, where he was married to his 2nd wife in 1929.
