Sarah Elizabeth Harris was born in Virginia in 1796 and died on October 22, 1869 in Holly Springs, MS. She was the daughter of Howell Harris and Mary Goodrich. She was descended from an prominent English family who were instrumental in the early settlement of the Virginia colony. She had six siblings: Howell G.; George E.; Benjamin F.; Thomas J.; Anne; and Hannibal. She married Benjamin S. Williamson on February 20, 1820 in Davidson County, TN.
