Mrs. W.H. Howell Passes at Stroud Thursday.
Mrs. Sallie Howell, aged 80 years, died at the old Howell home place last Thursday night about seven o'clock following an intermittent illness of several years.
The deceased was a life-long resident of the Stroud Community, the widow of the late W.H. Howell, prominent farmer of that section, and an active member of the Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church. Since the death of her husband she had made her home at the old Howell home place, where a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Gross were making their home.
Surviving the deceased are three sons - J.W. Howell of Stroud, member of the Chambers County Board of Commissioners, J.E. Howell, Fairfax, and H.B. Howell, Roanoke. Four daughters - Mrs. W.J. Cumbee of Stroud, Mrs. Henry Wright of West Point, GA, Mrs. W.C. Gross, Stroud, and Mrs. P.D. Lee, Welch.
