Excerpt of letter of Sarah Line written in Dunellen, NJ to her Aunt Margaret's husband Thomas Laing on June 30th, 1890. "I am the daughter of Ephriam Vail and am living at the age of 78 in the house built in 1774 in which my father was born, always lived and died after having entered his ninety-fifth year." She goes on to say: 'when Aunt Maragret died Augustus was but three weeks old so he was brough here tohis grandfather and taken care of until he was old enough to learn a trade.
