[362] XXX Lott Family
The Lott family, to which the late Dr. Charles F. Lott of Quakertown belonged, was founded in America by Sarah Lott, a widow, and her five sons, who emigrated to America from England about 1760, and settled on Long Island. Tradition relates that they were of Holland Dutch ancestry, though coming to America from England. The descendants of Sarah Lott intermarried with many of the old Knickerbocker families of New York and some of them, including Adam Mott and Rev. Nathaniel Greene, acquired notable distinction.
