Donald McNeil (Domhnall Aonghais Eoin) was a tailor. He was also one of the best farmers of the district in his days. He married Mary, daughter of Donald McKenzie (Mac Eachainn).
Issue: — Michael, Katie, Hector, Mary, Elizabeth, Stephen.
Michael was a Justice of the Peace and was known among his friends as “Squire McNeil.” He began life as a schoolteacher, and for a long time was customs collector at Grand Narrows, a position which he held at the time of his death. He married Sarah, daughter of Malcolm McDonald “Big,” of Big Beach.
Issue: — Margaret A., who is Mother St. Aloysius, of St. Bernard’s Convent, Antigonish; Dan Francis, married to Eliza Gillis, of North Sydney; and Mary Katrine, also a nun of the Congregation of Notre Dame.
