When Sarah McMinn was born in 1793, in Tennessee, United States, her father, Robert McMinn, was 29 and her mother, Barbara Capehart, was 29. She married William Harold Mann on 8 April 1811, in Hawkins, Tennessee, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 9 daughters. She lived in Hawkins, Tennessee, United States in 1850. She died on 6 August 1861, in Massac, Illinois, United States, at the age of 68.

Sarah, whom my mother referred to as "Sadie", was the niece, and reportedly the ward, of Joseph McMinn, Governor of Tennessee by 1815. Her father, Robert McMinn was the Governor's brother. He and all his siblings were born in Chester, PA in a Quaker community. I can find no record of Sarah's mother, but Sarah was born in Tennessee. I can find no information that confirms she was a ward of the governor.

She married William Mann and they resided in Tennessee.
