About Sarah McClellan
GEDCOM Note
A large number of Family trees on Ancestry and elsewhere (like FamilySearch) list Sarah as a native American. The primary evidence seems to be the application for tribal Lands by a Sarah McClellan whose application is with a James McClellan. Sarah appears to be a Cherokee by intermarriage and the whole application occurred after the death of this Sarah.
I've included this documentation with this Sarah just to indicate it is wrong, the dates on the title should be enough:
Oklahoma and Indian Territory, Land Allotment Jackets for Five Civilized Tribes, 1884-1934
If anyone has genuine proof that this Sarah was a native American I'd love to see it!
