About Sarah Martha Pearson
Wife of Lt. Col. John W. Pearson, CSA, of Orange Springs, FL.
Sarah was of the notable Pearce family of Screven County, GA, who were prominent in Georgia Methodism. Her parents were Stephen Calfrey Pearce and Mary Mills Pearce.
Her first marriage was to Robert B. Warren, about whom little is known, whom she married on 11 June 1829 when she was about age 17.
Sarah married John W. Pearson on 5 Oct 1842 in Savannah, Chatham, County, GA, when she was about age 30. There were five children born to this union.
She died on 16 Aug 1885 while visiting her daughter in Ocala, FL. She is buried in the Orange Springs Community Church Cemetery, Orange Springs, FL.
